Nature-based training courses in the heart of the bush in South Africa

A 28-day training course to learn the basics of working as a safari guide and trail guide, and, of course, to improve your skills and knowledge of the environment.
This 55-day training course, leading to Level 1 field guide qualification, covers more advanced material than the previous course. It is essential for anyone wishing to embark on a career as a guide. This course is also open to nature lovers wishing to take part as part of a gap year, a work placement, etc.
A one-year vocational training course leading to a qualification, designed specifically for those wishing to enter the safari industry, as well as for anyone wishing to expand their knowledge of the African bush. This programme consists of theoretical training in two different reserves over approximately six months, designed to provide participants with as wide a range of experiences and situations as possible. Participants go on two outings a day: the first from 5 or 6 am until 10 or 11 am, and the second from 4 pm until 8 pm to observe the savannah’s nightlife. To learn tracking techniques, students will also undertake field trips on foot. Following this training, a work placement will be carried out at a lodge to test each participant’s guiding skills under the supervision of experienced guides and managers.
