“Organisation” or “body” refers to the structures that host ecovolunteers. These may be associations, NGOs or agencies. These organisations are independent and based in France or abroad. They offer ecovolunteering stays and collect payments from ecovolunteers.

“User” refers to any person browsing the Sites.

2 – Description of Eco-volontaire’s services and products

The site eco-volontaire.com is a site dedicated to ecovolunteering. Ecovolunteering refers to a form of participatory tourism in which the ecovolunteer commits to an organisation for the preservation of the environment. In addition to their financial contribution, the ecovolunteer acts by giving their time. You will also find on this site the terms participatory ecotourism, purposeful travel, solidarity travel, and scientific holidays or travel.

The site eco-volontaire.com connects users with organisations (agencies, NGOs, associations), located in France or abroad, that offer ecovolunteering stays.

The matchmaking service covers the organisations presented in the form of mission profiles with a button providing access to a contact form. As such, data (address, email, phone number) is transmitted to the partner. See GDPR.

To be put in contact with one of these organisations:

  • Select the stay using the filters
  • Click on “Contact the association/partner/organisation/NGO”
  • Fill in the form that will allow you to get in touch with the organisation.

3 – Responsibility for ecovolunteering stays

Eco-volontaire is bound by a contract with local organisations. However, the ecovolunteering stay contract is concluded exclusively between the ecovolunteer and the partner organisation. The partner organisation is solely responsible for the ecovolunteering stay it offers. It is also responsible for the choice of its service providers and partners.

As a result, Eco-volontaire cannot be held responsible for the poor running of a stay or a cancellation on the part of the organisation. The ecovolunteer acknowledges and accepts that Eco-volontaire cannot be held responsible for the actions or omissions of third parties involved in their programme, over which the company has no direct control.

Eco-volontaire cannot under any circumstances be held responsible for losses, damages or expenses resulting from situations such as war, riots, strikes, terrorist activities, natural disasters, bankruptcies or any other event attributable to distinct third parties. Eco-volontaire accepts no responsibility for injuries, damages, losses, accidents, theft, delays or any other irregularity that may result from the failure of vehicles or equipment, or from the negligence or failure of any company or person providing services related to the programme.

Before departure, the ecovolunteer is responsible for all documents they must provide to the organisation. They are responsible for obtaining their travel insurance, a valid passport, and any necessary visas or vaccinations.

3 – Payment for stays

Booking and payment for the ecovolunteering stay is made directly with the partner organisation. Eco-volontaire does not take payments or make bookings. The payment conditions are those set out in the general terms and conditions of the partner organisations, to which you should refer. Eco-volontaire receives a commission which is paid back to it by the partner organisation.

4 – Cancellation policy

Any cancellation must be made by informing the partner organisation in the manner prescribed by that organisation’s general terms and conditions.

5 – How Eco-volontaire selects partner organisations

Eco-volontaire has selected partner organisations according to ethical criteria meeting the UN Sustainable Development Goals in the areas of environment and international solidarity.
