Supporting local communities in South Africa

The aim of the Community Support and Development mission is to help local communities, whether in terms of education, employment or the creation of links. This is a truly immersive experience in South African culture and way of life. Apartheid is over in South Africa, but it has left traces in its wake. Inequalities remain in terms of resources, employment and education, in the face of a population eager to learn...
The mission to support local communities in South Africa aims to remedy these inequalities. Its program responds positively to the resolution of the Sustainable Development Goals.

An immersive experience in a South African village

This mission will enable you to share in the daily life of South African villagers, while helping them to flourish and giving them reasons to smile and move forward! This volunteer mission will allow you to immerse yourself in a culture and traditions that are different from your own, while helping out in the process. You'll be surprised by the welcome, kindness and open-mindedness of the local people!

Depending on requirements, the activities involved in this mission are highly varied. Here are just a few examples of the tasks you may be asked to perform.

  • Helping underprivileged children with their schoolwork;
  • Teaching adults to make handicrafts;
  • Participation in markets or events set up to sell these items;
  • Manual work in the vegetable garden and nursery;
  • Helping to train our teachers;
  • Accompanying children on field trips;
  • Contribution to the educational program.

Thanks to this experience, you'll have the opportunity to rub shoulders with all generations: little ones aged 2 to 4 who come to the crèche every morning, older children aged 5 to 15 who come to the library in the afternoon, and adults from the village.

The mission welcomes volunteers every week, but the minimum duration is 2 weeks and the maximum is 12 weeks.
It closes only between mid-December and mid-January.
It's best to arrive on a Saturday or Sunday to fit in with the program.
