Animal and marine volunteering in Spain
Eco-volontaire lists carefully selected volunteer projects in Spain, run by local NGOs, associations or specialised volunteering agencies that we have vetted for their ethics and their real impact on biodiversity and animal welfare. Spain can be reached by train from much of Europe, for a low-carbon volunteering trip.
What you can do:
– Share daily life at a horse sanctuary in Andalusia, and learn new ways of interacting with horses. Open all year round.
– Help protect the Mediterranean Sea with a diving school in Barcelona: underwater surveys and seabed clean-ups along the Catalan coast.
Who it’s for: the horse sanctuary welcomes volunteers from age 14, and families are welcome; the marine project is open to volunteers aged 18 and over. No scientific background is needed.
Languages: English, Spanish.
How it works: contact the partner organisation directly through Eco-volontaire, free of charge. You book with them at their own price: using Eco-volontaire adds nothing to what you pay.
