Become a Wwoofer with the organic farm network!
In 1971, the Wwoof organic farm network was born in England. With it came a new kind of volunteer, the Wwoofer. In just a few decades, the network has grown to nearly thirty countries. Today, Wwoofers travel the world from farm to farm.
See the list of worldwide associations at the bottom of the page.
Wwoof World-Wide Opportunities on Organic is an international association of thousands of organic farms around the world. Wwoof gives you the opportunity to travel to a large number of countries around the world while sharing the lifestyle of the farmers who welcome you.
The principle is simple: in exchange for work, which usually lasts around 5 hours a day, you receive accommodation, food and training in organic farming.
Sharing, exchange and respect for nature are the pillars on which the network is based. Wwoofer's don't sign up for a vacation, but to discover organic farming and a way of life that's often close to the land.
For their part, the hosts who welcome Wwoofer's into their families also enjoy a unique experience as they share their know-how.
The details of your stay, including accommodation and the type of work to be done, are worked out directly with the farmers who welcome you. To obtain the addresses of members of the wwoof network, you need to join the association for the country concerned. A list with contact details will be sent to you.

Hello, I'm 50 years old and I'm questioning my whole career path. I have a family farm with about 3 hectares of abandoned land. I lived there over 35 years ago, and those were the best 2 years of my life. My grandparents worked in permaculture and had animals. Since I don't have much experience in this area, I'd like to acquire some while volunteering to help someone or a family working in a healthy environment, perhaps organic, with or without animals. The important thing is to see the energy and structure of working in a similar environment. As I really appreciate the south and the sun, I'd be happy to accept a commitment, duration to be negotiated if the conditions suit both parties. Olivier
Concerning the annual woofing fee, is it valid for a single country or is it international? To give a concrete example, I'm still hesitating between applying to a French host or an Irish host. Is it possible to pay a single fee and send a request to different countries, or would I have to pay a fee for each country? Thank you in advance for your reply.
