What Cap sur l'Écovolontariat doesn't do

Cap sur l'écovolontariat offers advice, support and addresses, but registrations are handled by the organizations themselves. Cap sur l'Écovolontariat does not handle registrations.

Why coaching to get started in Ecovolunteering?

More and more travelers are taking action in their spare time to help create a fairer, more ecological world. This craze has given rise to an abundance of participative holidays. While the development of the concept of useful travel is excellent news, particularly as an alternative to mass tourism, the multiplicity of offers has made it more difficult to select missions.

We can help you

Know what you're getting into

  • Ecovolunteering, volunteering, useful travel, solidarity travel, scientific travel, participative science, nature volunteering... What exactly is it all about?
  • In what way does your action correspond to the principles of the solidarity economy and the sustainable development objectives defined by the UN?
  • How is ecovolunteering different from a traditional tourist holiday?

Define your project to ensure its success

The success of an ecovolunteering mission, and the sense of satisfaction you feel on your return, depends very much on the gap between your expectations and the reality on the ground. Defining your travel project and your objectives is therefore a crucial step before taking the plunge!
Some ecovolunteers want to complete a university course, others want to put their retirement to good use, or have a family experience!

Evaluate your abilities to push your limits!

Going on an ecovolunteering mission can be a transforming experience! You'll gain in confidence and skills, and your view of the world will probably change!
However, it's important to assess yourself before you leave, in terms of your ability to live in a community, your English skills and your physical stamina.

Find your way through the diversity of offers

  • Associations, travel agencies, platforms, NGOs...
  • Ecovolunteering, volunteering, scientific travel, participative science, useful travel, solidarity travel...
  • There's no such thing as one offer being better than another, just one that's the best match for what you're looking for.

Prepare yourself before an assignment

Preparing for an ecovolunteering mission is vital, because it's a commitment, a gift on your part to help protect biodiversity. It's important to be well prepared: work on your foreign languages, your physical condition, know the administrative formalities...

Know how to lower the cost of your mission

Depending on the budget you can devote to your project, the taxes you pay and the energy you can put into preparing it, there are various options open to you: tax deductions, participatory financing...

Why choose Cap sur l'Écovolontariat for coaching?

  • In contrast to the organizations proposing committed trips, I can offer you a wide range of addresses that are not necessarily partners of the Cap sur l'Ecovolontariat platform.
  • Depending on your project, your degree of autonomy and the resources you can afford to invest in an ecovolunteering mission, we'll make you a tailor-made proposal. You may need to go through an intermediary structure, or be sufficiently experienced to interact directly with the field association (which avoids the intermediary structure's costs).
  • Cap sur l'Ecovolontariat is a benchmark site for researching environmentally-friendly travel. In this sense, you benefit from our expertise.

Who am I to offer ecovolunteering support?

Ecovolunteering referent

  • In 2006-2007, I embarked on an 11-month long-distance trip. I was looking for an original way to travel, far from the beaten track and in line with my convictions on environmental protection. That's when I discovered ecovolunteering and got involved in various environmental preservation missions around the world.
  • In 2009, I created eco-volontaire.com, which has become a reference site for ecovolunteering.
  • 2014, I took part in the Ecovolunteering Charter
  • In 2016, "Aventure du bout du monde" publishing asked me to write the 1st guide to ecovolunteering. The latest edition is digital and dates from 2020. Valued at €17, it is offered with the purchase of one of the two coaching packs.
  • In 2019, thanks to the trust that binds the various players in useful travel and Cap sur l'Ecovolontariat, I have developed a platform with a selection of missions whose action on the ground is serious.

Experienced in accompaniment

  • I worked for 7 years as an occupational health nurse* in large companies. I have several hundred interviews to my credit on work-related issues: health, stress management, professional retraining, adapting to change...
  • With a degree in travel medicine and traveler's health, I have accompanied dozens of employees before they travelled to different countries around the world, including war zones.

* The support offered here does not fall within the scope of nursing practice. Only advice is given. For medical problems, please contact your doctor, and for vaccinations, please contact a nurse.
