In an Amazon wildlife sanctuary

Located in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, this rehabilitation center takes in wild animals (parrots, monkeys, coatis, turtles, etc.) that have fallen victim to illegal trafficking. Over 120 animals are cared for here, and some are released back into their natural habitat each year. The facility is also involved in scientific conservation projects, notably on the spider monkey.

The ecovolunteer's action

Volunteers are involved in the day-to-day running of the sanctuary:

  • Preparing meals and feeding animals
  • Enclosure cleaning and maintenance
  • Creation of enrichments to stimulate natural behaviors
  • Center maintenance (DIY, painting, repairs, etc.)
  • Guided tours to raise visitor awareness
  • Support for environmental education activities

Depending on your skills, you may be offered additional tasks: graphic design, carpentry, communication, writing...

  • 4 weeks minimum, all year round
