Protecting turtle nesting beaches

The conservation program aims to preserve the ecosystem of sea turtle nesting beaches on the Osa Peninsula. The monitored site covers 8 km of coastline, with over 7,000 nests recorded each season. Your participation as a volunteer will have a tangible impact on the survival of the turtles and on the local community. The team is very committed to this project and expects every volunteer to be as involved as possible in achieving the objectives set.

Young eco-volunteers for marine conservation

Take part in a unique program to protect sea turtles on the beaches of Costa Rica. Alternate between discovering the country's natural wonders and getting involved in a marine conservation project with a direct impact on local biodiversity.

  • Patrols to protect new nests
  • Data collection on egg-laying females

Example of a volunteer day (Costa Rica - sea turtle protection project)

  • 7:00 am: breakfast at camp with the team.
  • 8:00 am: take part in daytime activities such as beach clean-ups, plastic sorting, tree planting or school events.
  • 11:30am: free time or relaxation on the beach.1pm - 2pm: lunch
  • 2:30 pm: continuation of conservation missions or workshops (teaching English, maintenance work, local awareness-raising).
  • 7:00 pm: dinner, followed by a night patrol of the beach (monitoring egg-laying, protecting nests, releasing baby turtles).
