Protecting the rainforest

Created in 2002, this private, non-profit reserve protects over 220 hectares of high-altitude tropical rainforest. Since its foundation, the site has replanted over 50,000 native trees, while ensuring the preservation of the primary forest adjacent to Chirripó National Park.

The ecovolunteer's action

Depending on your profile and the duration of your assignment, you can take part in various activities:

  • Reforestation: planting native trees, maintaining reforested areas, monitoring natural regeneration
  • Maintenance & infrastructure: trail maintenance, buildings, composting, waste management
  • Education: guided tours, events for groups and schools, local awareness-raising activities
  • Scientific research: collecting data on fauna, flora and biodiversity (for internships of 12 weeks or more)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7am to 1pm (weekends off)

Every week, two team meetings are held to allocate tasks according to each person's interests, skills and needs.

Cloudbridge Nature Reserve is a non-profit organization that has been working for over 20 years to restore and preserve Costa Rica's cloud forests.
