Study Przewalski's horse in Mongolia. Collect data on one of the rarest and most endangered horses in the world, the wild Takhi or Przewalski's horse! All programs with horses here

Reintroduction of Przewalski's horse in Mongolia

Przelwaski wild horses disappeared in the middle of the 20th century. The last Przewalski horse, also known as Takhi, was seen around 1966. It is one of the few horses never to have been domesticated! This makes it the only species of wild horse in the world today.

In a nature reserve in the Töv region

The main aim of the project, located in Mongolia's Töv province in a nature reserve, is to conduct research on Przewalski's horse to ensure its protection. Biologists are studying the horse's behavior and its interactions with ecosystems, with a view to reintroducing them into the wild.
Our partner Fronteering will place you at the heart of the project in Mongolia, which calls on ecovolunteers to help the scientists with their various tasks.
