Studying and protecting the ocean by diving along the Portuguese coast

Experience an unforgettable adventure by joining a marine conservation program in Lisbon.
Our partner works with a local diving school specializing in the protection of marine life. This program gives you the opportunity to dive, work for a healthy ocean and gain experience in marine conservation!
While diving, you will learn to recognize the main threats to the marine ecosystem and become aware of policies to protect this ecosystem.
You will join a marine conservation project whose aim is to ensure the survival of a unique marine environment along Portugal's magnificent coastline.
This program for the protection of marine flora and fauna studies the different species to ensure their survival. The data collected is recorded, analyzed and used as a basis for ocean protection policies. In addition to studying flora and fauna, the program's mission is to collect waste in the ocean.

Study of marine environments and collection of underwater waste

This marine conservation project invites volunteers to take part in various activities designed to protect marine flora and fauna, including the collection of marine litter. If you're passionate about ocean conservation and love diving, this is the project for you!

Week 1: dive certification

If you don't know how to dive

The program is open to people who have never dived before. However, they will need to start their stay with dive training to obtain their certificate. This is an essential step towards safe participation in conservation activities. Once you've acquired some independence, usually during the second week, you can start to take part in garbage collection. If it's your first time diving and you have little or no experience, it's strongly recommended that you sign up for at least two weeks to ensure your participation in the marine conservation program. If you only stay for a week, you may not be able to take part in deep-sea diving.

If you are a certified diver

If you are already certified in scuba diving, our instructors will assess your skills so that you can begin to participate fully in the various parts of the program.

You can start the program at any level of experience and obtain the next level of certification accordingly!
